Hi! I’m Amy Fox, mom of two and proud owner of New Horizon Bookkeeping. My passion for business started when I was just a little girl and I started my first business with some left-over invoices, an old briefcase, and an ironing board for a desk. My sister and I proudly named our first business “Biz On Tree.” That early love of organizing and creating paperwork was the beginning of a love for business and bookkeeping that has continued to this day.
At 17, I began working at my dad’s locksmith business as a bookkeeper, I managed inventory, did payroll, and managed the front counter. My dad bought his business from his dad and my grandma was the bookkeeper and office manager, so I like to say business runs in my blood. Over the years, I got an associate’s degree in accounting, and started setting up businesses bookkeeping software and cleaning up peoples QuickBooks as a side hustle. Who doesn’t enjoy a good puzzle?
But it was during my time running a wholesale jewelry business with my then-husband that I truly learned what it feels like to face financial chaos.
When I bought that business, it came with over $200,000 in debt, disorganized books, and a threadbare profit margin. It was overwhelming—but it didn’t have to stay that way. I rolled up my sleeves, cleaned up the financial mess, and helped grow that business to over $8 million in sales. I know firsthand the stress, fear, and uncertainty that financial disarray can cause.
